The Role of Tea in Detoxification

At the heart of the Modern Mayr Cure – according to the teachings of F.X. Mayr – is the cleansing of the body. Detoxifying, deacidifying, and eliminating toxins promotes the regeneration of the digestive system. Most modern diseases originate in the gut, the most important control center of our immune system.

When it Comes to Health

Drinking = Key

Drinking plays an extremely important role in detoxification – around 3 liters should be consumed throughout the day. Increased fluid intake and the daily use of Epsom salt contribute significantly to flushing toxins from the body and cleansing the digestive tract. In addition to our good tap water and mineral water, the health center at Parkhotel Igls offers a variety of alkaline teas that can have numerous positive effects on the body.

Did You Know That ...

... tea, for example, contains a variety of vitamins? For instance, Vitamin C in high concentration and also B vitamins that are involved in metabolic processes. Studies even suggest that the ingredients in tea can accelerate fat metabolism.

Alkaline Teas

Counteracting Acidification

A balanced acid-base balance is crucial for health and well-being. The typical diet here mainly consists of acid-forming foods. Chronically acidic, the body cannot cope with the increasing demands of daily life forever.

The teas used at the Park Igls Medical Spa Resort contain only alkaline ingredients.

Acid-forming fruit teas and black tea are avoided. Black tea also contains caffeine, dehydrates the body, and has a mild constipating effect. Green tea is allowed in small amounts; unlike black tea, it contains only unfermented leaves. Teas that contain preservatives, colorants, and flavors are also rejected. People with allergies should avoid chamomile and calendula, as they can trigger allergic reactions.

The Correct Tea Preparation

As part of the Modern Mayr Cure, teas are prepared in a special way. The best effect is achieved by brewing "blonde" teas for a short time. As much tea as can be held by three fingers is poured over 1 liter of hot water, and the tea is steeped for no longer than 2 minutes. Sugar and artificial sweeteners do not belong in the tea!

At the Park Igls Medical Spa Resort, guests have the difficult choice of forty different teas, which are freshly brewed alternately and can also be purchased at the hotel shop. A new addition is the "Weight Loss Tea" by Dr Gartner, the medical director of the Parkhotel Igls Health Center. A secret tip – just ask for it!
