3D View of Your Own Body with Dr Frauscher
We set standards: With the latest technology and Dr Ferdinand Frauscher, a globally recognized specialist in ultrasound diagnostics, Park Igls leads the way into a new era of medical technology examinations.
No Side Effects
State-of-the-Art Ultrasound Technology
"What you see here is one of the most modern devices currently available! It represents a leap forward of unprecedented scope! The technology of this 'Hitachi Ascendus' – a high-end ultrasound machine – allows insights into the body that we could only dream of before!"
Dr Frauscher, who was Head of Radiodiagnostics II at the University Hospital Innsbruck until 2011 and a guest professor at research centers in London and Boston, has had his practice at Park Igls since 2012.
Early Disease Detection
Prevention at Park Igls
The examinations he conducts are primarily aimed at the early detection of diseases – and all without side effects, as they are based on entirely new technology: These new ultrasound methods include Color and Power Doppler Sonography, Echo-enhanced Sonography, and Sonoelastography.
What do these technical terms mean? "These terms refer to devices that offer a completely new image of the body. Sonography with this technology provides detailed images of pathological conditions such as in the breast or prostate, of hardening in the liver or kidneys. The method allows an accurate assessment of the carotid artery because it also shows blood flow, meaning it displays circulation in three-dimensional graphics on the screen. This allows us to tell whether a patient has cardiovascular problems or whether such problems are to be expected."
Communication with the Patient
The precision of the examination results is remarkable, and this new diagnostic technique offers many significant advantages over other methods: There are no side effects, no radiation exposure like with X-ray examinations, no contrast agents are needed, it is completely painless, and for men having their prostate examined, many medical procedures are avoided!
"Sonography is also a very communicative examination method. While the doctor moves the ultrasound sensor over the body, they can talk to the patient. This creates greater closeness and a relationship with the doctor, which is not possible with methods like a CT scan, where the patient is entirely at the mercy of technology, lying in a tube, with noise in their ears, and the examination is carried out by technicians, not doctors. The conversation between doctor and patient is very important to me. Patients should talk about their complaints or concerns, confide in the doctor. This way, the doctor learns about habits, which often gives a hint about developmental issues or stresses."
Ideal for anyone aiming for optimal health benefits on as broad a basis as possible.
Do You Know...
... the benefit of overlaying datasets? Changes in organs can be observed and monitored more precisely because data can be stored and compared over an extended period. "Whether it’s a small polyp in the intestine or hardening in the liver – this new development makes diagnostics even more accurate. With the elastograph and image fusion, we have found a way to detect changes and potential risks early. The next step is to develop and apply minimally invasive therapies."
Highest Medical Competence
With the Comfort of a 4-Star Hotel
More and more guests are using their stay at Park Igls Medical Spa Resort for thorough examinations. From blood analysis to full body checks, the offer is extensive. This gives the doctor a complete picture, allowing lab values to be integrated with other findings, increasing the accuracy of the analysis.
And one more undeniable advantage: The guest saves visits to multiple doctors or hospitals and enjoys all the benefits of a relaxing stay.
