The Mayr clinic at Park Igls in Tyrol, Austria is located on a sunny plateau at the foot of the Patscherkofel mountain, 900m above sea level and approximately 5km south of Innsbruck. It has magnificent views of the Nordkette mountain range and the Karwendel nature park, the largest conservation area in Tyrol and in Austria. This location enjoys a unique combination of Alpine air and the best possible conditions for physical regeneration. At this altitude, moderate exercise is particularly good for the heart and circulation, and the surroundings and stillness of the mountains stimulate motivation as well as renewal of both body and mind.
Our exercise instructors and sports guides offer regular walks and bike tours!
Our proximity to Tyrol’s capital Innsbruck allows you to combine your Mayr stay with art, culture and shopping.
There are numerous trails and footpaths in Igls and the surrounding area. One of the most appealing routes is the 'Zirbenweg' or 'stone pine path', which runs from the Patscherkofel's upper terminus to the Tulfeinalm on Glungezer mountain. This mountain walk takes you through the nature reserve with only slight altitude variations and stunning views of the Inn Valley.
The Nordkette mountain range on the opposite side of the Inn Valley is also worth exploring. This nature reserve forms part of the Karwendel mountains. The Hungerburgbahn funicular railway, which was designed by the late, great architect Zaha Hadid, takes you from Innsbruck to Hungerburg. From there a cable car whisks you to the high Alpine region of Seegrube, and even further to the Hafelekar upper terminus at 2,269 metres above sea level.
