Balance Your Body – for balance and coordination

An active, balanced body and mind

Our ability to balance prevents us from falling over. Hence a good sense of balance reduces the risk of injury – and helps you feel secure. Furthermore, balance is improvable – at any age! Balance training promotes sensorimotor functions and strengthens the deep stabilising muscles around the joints, which includes the spine.

Benefits of Balance Your Body:

  • Improves balance and body control
  • The sensorimotor training aspect teaches to control movement based on sensory perception
  • Exercises deep stabilising muscles around the hip, knee and ankle joints, and the spine

Strength training for the spine

A strong back for an active life

As strength decreases, all the functions of the body begin to wane, fitness and mobility decline, we become more susceptible to degenerative processes and external influences, and our quality of life is undermined. However, muscle strength can be increased, and strength training provides suitable exercise for anyone with unimpaired mobility, whatever their age and constitution. Strength is the foundation for all kinds of sport, and provides a basis for an active and improved quality of life.

Benefits of strength training for the spine:

  • Increases muscle mass
  • Increases strength and improves mobility
  • Increases bone density
  • Strengthens tendons, ligaments and joints
  • Increases joint stabilisation
  • Improves posture
  • Improves metabolism (fat loss!)
  • Provides effective rehabilitation following injury or disease, etc.

Stabilise your joints with kybun®

kybun® is a form of exercise that involves walking on soft mats known as kyBounders. These mats require you to keep your balance with every step you take. You achieve this by making numerous small, subconscious adjustments to your movements. The exercises target the deep muscle groups, especially those that stabilise the joints – from the ankle right up to the cervical vertebrae. kybun® is an ideal form of complementary therapy following injury or surgery, because it stimulates healing processes.

Benefits of kybun®:

  • Strengthens the stabilising muscles
  • Improves posture and balance
  • Intensifies leg vein activity
  • Relaxes the back muscles
  • Increases concentration and alertness

kybun® interval walking

Walking in kyBoots energises, builds up and relaxes the deep stabilising muscles. It also trains the nervous system that controls these muscles.

Feldenkrais® at Park Igls in Tyrol

The Feldenkrais® method

Breathe easier, stand easier, walk easier and run easier: healthy, without pain and with new opportunities and learning experiences. According to its inventor Moshé Feldenkrais, Feldenkrais® is merely an ‘educational system’ that helps you learn through movement. By the time we are adults we have often forgotten the things that infants are able to do from the first moment and practice daily, from which they derive their motivation and joy. Babies explore the world with all their senses, intuitively – they learn ‘organically’. Moshé Feldenkrais, engineer, physicist, judo champion and passionate scientist was certain that the ability to learn organically survives throughout life, and simply needs to be rediscovered.

Set out on new paths, (re)discover yourself, and enjoy this special lightness of your being!

Break old patterns

In this learning process, small adjustments to movement patterns lead to major changes in the nervous system, relieve pain, improve flexibility and bring greater ease to movements. Feldenkrais® is an educational system that helps us to make fresh discoveries, and thereby lead us to freedom from pain, joy in movement, and lightness of being. We regularly offer Feldenkrais® training at the Park Igls health retreat, often in combination with mental coaching sessions and detox treatments.
